About the author

C. C. Konono was born to, in his opinion, the best parents in the world. However, as lucky as he feels he was on that front, his luck was entirely the opposite when it came to the many physical and mental health issues he faced at a very young age. In chronic physical pain and mental distress, C. C. Konono retreated into his mind, where he began to tell stories about another version of himself who could escape the pain and go on interdimensional adventures with characters from his favorite childhood media as well as with a group of young heroes he dubbed the Third Dimensional Council. Those stories led to the beloved first novel C. C. Konono wrote, Two Islands, meant to be the first in the Dimensional Chronicles series. Unfortunately and correctly, a writing mentor pointed out that the story was too close to his heart to put out in front of readers. Thus, C. C. Konono started a series he refuses to acknowledge and, eventually, his third and equally beloved Queen’s Guard series. While the Dimensional Chronicles got C. C. Konono through his youth, Queen’s Guard got him through his adolescence, including the successive losses of his Great-Grandmother, Tio, Tia, and beloved Grandmother Tati. Queen’s Guard might not have been the break-out series C. C. Konono was sure that it would be, but it did give him the experience he needed to be ready for the moment he discovered web novels and light novels during the COVID pandemic, in particular through the anime Wise Man’s Grandchild and Our Last Crusade: Rise of a New World. Writing in the genre for a few years and with many false-starts, C. C. Konono eventually scrapped most of the series and characters he had constantly been re-working and wrote an entirely new story based on a dream, finishing what would later be submitted to the Genesis Studio Original Novel Contest. This story, which would later become A Third Son’s Unlucky Rise to Prominence, won the first Genesis Studio Original Novels contest while his forthcoming work, An Infernal Fool’s Return From Starfall, was a finalist in the same competition. Third Son has achieved over 75,000 reads over the course of its run time across multiple iterations of the Genesis platform.
